THE PRODUCTS AND TOOLS THAT EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

By: Ashley Carlevato - Bukés Stylist

A good brush - Brushing dry hair on a regular basis helps to distribute your hairs natural oils which will condition your hair. The best quality hair brushes have natural bristles which move with your hair, preventing breakage.

Shampoo and Conditioner - The key is to use products for your hair type. If you color your hair, use a color safe line. If you have curly hair, try a shampoo that enhances curls. Spending a few extra dollars on a quality shampoo and conditioner can save you money when it comes to maintaing your hairstyle.

Wide tooth comb - Using a hairbrush on wet hair pulls on your hair and sacrifices it’s elasticity. Using a wide tooth comb will detangle as well as distribute product without snapping your hair strands.

Blow Dryer - Not everyone is lucky enough to have wash-and-wear hair. Make sure your blowdryer is ionic, has speed controls, and variable heat settings.

Flat Iron - Flat irons are no longer used just to get your hair bone-straight. Women can now use their irons to get silky straight hair with movement, a bend at the ends, or even beachy waves. Wrap your hair around your flat iron and pull straight out to create curl and body.

Heat Protectant - If you use a blowdryer, flat iron, or curling iron, it is recommended that you put a barrier between your hair and the heat. Using a product on damp hair can protect you from heat damage. Some products that you already use probably have a heat protectant in them, ask your stylist if you are unsure.

Hairspray - If you are going to put all the work into styling your hair, be sure to spray it before you walk out the door. There are even “hairsprays” to use on damp hair which will hold your blow-out in place for days!

I don't have a blow dryer, a flat iron, heat protectant and hair spray. Now, how bad is that?
